Platt House Farm Bungalow
This large ‘T’ shaped bungalow was built in 1963 for Tony Betts as the centre of Platt House dairy farm. His father had previously, in 1959, bought the land comprising Platt House farm from Lady Astor. There were pre-existing farm cottages at what is now Platt House Farm Cottage but these were tenanted. Tony had moved from his father’s 1000 acre farm at Offham. The bungalow was extended in 1967 and in 2004 a first floor was created. By 2016 all of the Betts family had moved elsewhere and the bungalow was rented out as three separate dwellings (North Wing, South Wing and First Floor Flat). The Parish boundary runs about 50 metres to the north and the bungalow is, consequently, in the Parish of Wrotham although much of its farm land is in Stansted.
Platt House Farm Cottage
This large detached house was originally two farm cottages associated with Platt House Farm (now Platt House). Their age is unknown but they appear on the 1895 OS map.The date at which they were converted to one dwelling is also unknown but may have coincided with an extensive programme of extensions and alterations carried out in 1988. The property is just in the Parish of Wrotham.
Wrotham Hill Park
The property is in the Parish of Wrotham. This was part of the Wrotham Hill estate which was sold at auction in 1919. The estate at that time included Coldharbour Farm, Goodmans Farm, Wrotham Hill Farm and Wrotham Hill Park (incl the Entrance Lodge, Gardeners Cottages, The Cottage and Farm).
High Wood
This timber house was built in what had previously been woodland just before 1939. It was extended in 1992, 2006 and 2021 but still has the form of the original house. For just over a year in 2013/14 it was the home of Peaches Geldoff and her husband Tom Cohen. The property is in the Parish of Wrotham.
Platt Hill Wood
The current house was built during 2015 to replace a large 1920s ‘L’ shaped detached house. The old house and its extensive grounds was lived in for many years until 2010 by Mrs Meg Kelly. The new house was built about 20 metres to the north east of the original house and faces north east/ south west. It incorporates a tennis court, helipad and lake. The property is in the Parish of Wrotham.
