For many years the Stansted Church flower ladies have organised annual flower festivals.   On 29th September 2013 the village teamed up with Fairseat to incorporate a scarecrow festival.  Residents of the two villages gathered straw and newspapers to stuff into old clothes, creating scarecrows of various and imaginative shapes and sizes.  The scarecrows were on display in various locations in the two villages and added a fun element to the event.
